Lagoon Street Studio is a working artist’s studio and visits are available by appointment only.

Studio visits are generally scheduled from April onwards, Requests should be made well in advance and include:

  • A brief introduction

  • The reason for the visit

  • Relevant professional context (where applicable)

Due to work commitments and limited availability, I’m unable to accommodate short-notice requests or drop-in visits, and not all requests can be facilitated.

Studio visits are intended for those with a specific professional interest in the work, such as curators, writers, collectors, and fellow artists. Requests should be sent to email

Alongside her own practice, Buckley has developed an artist-led residency initiative based at Lagoon Street Studio, offering short-term, flexible stays with studio access and on-site accommodation in Faro.

The residency is conceived as a space for studio-based research, reflection, dialogue, and peer exchange, rather than production-led outcomes. There is no expectation of a public exhibition, workshop, or fixed result during the residency period. The studio can support artists undertaking self-directed projects, as well as those participating in externally funded mobility or research programmes.

The programme is particularly suited to artists engaged in:

abstract or process-based practices

material or spatial investigation

research-led or cross-disciplinary work

It may also support artists undertaking self-directed or externally funded research periods.

For those who wish to engage more publicly, the studio can support informal opportunities such as:

studio visits

small discussions

exchanges with local artists

public Exhibition

These remain optional and are shaped collaboratively depending on the visiting artist’s interests.

The programme has a particular focus on Irish and Portuguese artists, while also welcoming international practitioners whose work aligns with the ethos of the studio.

Residencies are offered on a limited and selective basis. Visiting artists are asked to make a nominal contribution towards utilities and shared costs.

This is a pilot programme, and availability is limited.
